Sickle Cell Disease Blood Donor Program "Be An African-American Hero"
African-American Blood Donors Are considered the best match to donate blood to African–American children with sickle cell disease who require blood transfusion therapy support. Through the Cooperative Sickle Cell Disease Blood Donor Program, a special "Blue Tag" is available at blood drives to identify blood donations from those who wish to designate their blood for a child with sickle cell disease. The Program Partners include:• American Red Cross Blood Services Penn-Jersey Region• Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center• St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children Marian Anderson Sickle Cell Center• Sickle Cell Disease Association of America/PDVC
